| Abstract: | Treatment of 4‐arylthio‐3‐hydroxy‐2‐pyrones with acetylenedicarboxylates gave 4‐arylthio‐3‐hydroxyphthalates by the base‐catalyzed Diels–Alder reaction via a decarboxylation in good yields. |
