| Abstract: | The emission and absorption of gravitationalwaves and massless particles of an infinitely longstraight cosmic string with finite thickness arestudied. It is shown in a general term that the backreaction of the emission and absorption always makes thesymmetry axis of the string singular. The singularity isa scalar singularity and cannot be removed. |
