| Abstract: | Infrared and Raman spectra of tetraalkylammonium and lithium thiocyanates and bromides in protic-aprotic solvent mixtures have been recorded in the 2100–2300 cm?1 region at room temperature. It is shown that the anion is hydrogen bonded to the protic solvent, whether free or linked to a cation. Models are given for the solvated ion-pair taking into account both anion and cation solvation. |
