Abstract: | Dimeric phthalocyanines of a new type with a bridging 9,9,10,10-tetramethyl-9,10-dihydroanthracene fragment were synthesized. On the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis and molecular modeling of 9,9,10,10-tetramethyl-9,10-dihydroanthracene, a nearly planar structure was assumed for these phthalocyanines. The electronic absorption spectra of the obtained phthalocyanines and their monomeric and conjugated dimeric analogs were compared. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk.
