| Abstract: | The electron impact ionization cross sections for excited states of Ne like Ar 8 and Y 29 ions are given by the detailed configuration calculation using a Distorted Wave Born Exchange (DWBE) approximation. The results show that it is important to use the detailed configuration calculation for highly charged and excited ions. |
