| Abstract: | Summary Palladium(II) complexes of thioacetamide, thiooxamide,No,No-dimethylthiooxamide and ethyl thiooxamidate have been prepared and investigated by electronic and i.r. spectroscopy. It is concluded that the ligands always act as monodentate sulphur donors, and that planar [PdL4]X2 (X = Cl, Br or ClO4) compounds are formed. The (PdS) frequencies and the ligand field strengths are enhanced by electron donor groups and lowered by electron withdrawing groups. |
