Thermodynamic limitation on the conversion of heat into coherent radiation

From the thermodynamical point of view there is the possibility of supplying a small amount of the energy of coherent radiation from a thermal reservoir. This possibility is attributed to the finite flow of entropy of light which is coherent but shows amplitude and/or phase fluctuations even if the radiation field consists of only a single mode.
