Azide and N-hydroxysuccinimide ester of five pentapeptides related to gramicidin S (cyclic decapeptide) were cyclized to determine the ratio of dimer to monomer in the cyclization product, the pentapeptide derivative with D-Phe as C-terminus giving the dimer in good yield. |
