Abstract: | The nonlinear electrohydrodynamic stability ofcylindrical interface, supporting surface charge, among twoconducting fluids is investigated. The two fluids are subjected toa radial electric field. The analysis based on the multiple scaletechnique. It is shown that the evolution of the amplitude isgoverned by two partial differential equations. These equationsare combined to yield two alternate Schrödinger equations withcubic nonlinearity. One of which calculates the nonlinear cutoffelectric field, separating stable and unstable disturbances, whilethe other is used to analyze the stability of the system. Thestability criteria are analytically discussed and numericallyconfirmed. Numerical calculations resulted in set of graphs toindicate the stability picture of the considered system. |
