| Abstract: | Summary. The reaction of 2-aminomethylene-2,3-dihydropyrrol-3(1H)-ones with ethyl bromoacetate, chloroacetonitrile, or dilute HCl gave rise to a series of methine dyes, namely 1-aryl-2-3-hydroxy-1-aryl-4,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl]methylene-4,5-diphenyl-2,3-dihydropyrrol-3(1H)-ones. |
