Synthesis of formamidines from 2-amino-3-methylquinazolin-4-one and its 6-nitro derivative

The condensation of 2-amino-3-methylquinazolin-4-one and its 6-nitro derivative with dialkyl-, arylalkyl-, and heterylformamides has given the corresponding formamidines of the quinazolinone series.
