| Abstract: | It is shown that the group PSL2(H) cannot act effectively on any eight-dimensional stable plane. Together with previous results, this entails that every eight-dimensional stable plane admitting a nontrivial action of SL2(H) embeds into the projective plane over Hamilton's quaternions H. |
