Femtosecond Er doped fiber laser using high modulation depth SESAM based on metal/dielectric hybrid mirror

Abstract:We proposed and fabricated a metal/dielectric mirror based high modulation depth semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM), for ease of the growth restrictions. Using such a SESAM, we obtained self-starting mode-locking in a ring cavity fiber laser, which produced 102 fs pulses at a repetition rate of 36.2 MHz.
