| Abstract: | Copper(I) salts of arylacetic acids RCO2H readily undergo a catalytic and quantitative decarboxylation in acetonitrile leading to hydrocarbons RH when the corresponding carbanions R are stabilized by resonance and/or electronwithdrawing substituents. |
