Violet Band Excimer Emission of Zn2Excited by Relativistic Electron Beam |

Abstract: | Bound free emissions of the Zn2 excimer excited by electron beam as a possible long-lived excimer system have been observed. A gas mixture of helium or argon with a hot vapor of zinc was excited to obtain a continuous emission band from 431~408 nm, which was assigned to the Zn2 excimer 13∑x+u→11∑x+g transition. The other strong diffuse emission observed in He/Zn mixture, which is centered at 427.6 nm and overlapped with the emission band of Zn2, was predicted to be the contribution of transitions from a new excimer ZnHe. |
