Relations for particle deposition in turbulent gas-particle channel flows

Abstract:Using the dimensional and similarity analysis in a combination with the method of matched asymptotic expansions, the problem of particle deposition on boundaries in high-Reynolds number turbulent channel flows is studied. Based on the conventional two-layer scheme of a turbulent near-wall flow, the relations for the distributions of the particle concentration and the velocity fluctuation moments in the wall region are obtained. Asymptotic laws are derived for the particle deposition rate for diffusion-impact and inertial deposition regimes.
