Abstract: | The familiar equations for the synchrotron radiation of an electron moving in a constant and uniform magnetic field are refined and corrected for the case of a helical trajectory. Particular attention is paid to account of the subsequent approximations in the asymptotic equation. This permits a significant expansion of the range of applicability of the approximate methods for studying the synchrotron radiation when there is a longitudinal velocity component.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, Vol. 12, No. 2, pp. 108–116, February, 1969.The authors thank Professor I.
