High-resolution optical spectroscopy of benzophenone under high pressure

Abstract:
Phosphorescence spectra of benzophenone have been investigated with a diamond anvil cell. At 2 K the spectra remain sharp under high pressure. The pressure shift of the origin exhibits a plateau around 25 kbar. This and other spectral observations are interpreted.
