| Abstract: | SCF-Xα MO calculations on Mn2p core ion states of MnF2 and MnI2 suggest that on energetic grounds the observed Mn2p photoelectron satellites should be assigned to shake-up transitions from the Mn3d crystal field orbitals to the conduction band. |
