COMPARISON BETWEEN ELECTRONIC AND PHOTONIC SYSTEMS |

| Abstract: | A comparison of the behavior of electrons and photons is given. The structural requirements for photon confinement in cases analogous to isolated atoms and molecules and crystalline structures are discussed. A high similarity between electronic and photonic systems is found. |
