摘 要: | Described in this paper is the basic principle of quartz thermoluminescence (TL) dating of loess. Also discussed is the effect of sunlight on the storage of energy in quartz lattice, which will be used to determine the starting point of energy storage. The application of TL technique to loess dating is based on this principle. The determined ages of loess samples from six profiles are presented, together with the data previously published. The results show that the formation age of Malan loess is 100,000 yr B. P.
