| Abstract: | A highly stereoselective synthesis of the naturally occurring lactone (−)-spicigerolide has been achieved utilizing OsO4-catalyzed dihydroxylation, CBS, Lindlar’s reductions, Still-Gennari, and Grignard reactions as the key reaction steps. |
