Abstract: | Chiral N-heterocyclic carbenes were found to be efficient catalysts for the formal [4+2] cycloaddition reaction of alkyl(aryl)ketenes and 9,10-phenanthrenequinone to give the corresponding cycloadducts in good yields with high enantioselectivities. |
