Abstract: | The advancing and receding contact angles in the tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide aqueous solution-p-xylene-glass system are determined. The adsorption of surfactant at the water-p-xylene interface is studied by the scintillating phase method and the assumption of the possible formation of microemulsion phase at the interface is made. Surfactant distribution over a solid surface in selective wetting is investigated by autoradiography. It is established that selective wetting differs substantiallyfrom wetting in air; possible reasons for the observed differences are discussed. |
