Synthesis of 5,6-Ephnino-5,6-dihydro-β-ionone In order to synthesize the title compound 5 the 2-azidoalcohols 3 and 4 were treated with various nucleophilic phosphorus compounds. It was found that the course of the reaction depends strongly upon the kind of nucleophilic phosphorus derivative used.
