Abstract: | The thermal decomposition of CdSiAs2 in vacuum was undertaken in order to deposit this film of potential photovoltaic and other electronics applications. A model for the evaporation process is presented which predicts a cubic time dependence of the film deposition process. The experimental deposition process approximated the cubic law. Deviations from it are attributed to the stepwise nature of the process: a film of SiAs is deposited, followed by the deposited of silicon. |
