| Abstract: | A short synthesis of the title compound is described. The key-step involves the treatment of the readily available vinyl-ester by lithium metal in liquid ammonia/THF, then by 5-bromo pent-1-ene so as to effect comcomitant reduction, deoxygenation and stereospecific alkylation in a “one pot process”. |
