Anodic oxidation in acetic acid of polycyclic cyclopropanes, namely tricyclene, cyclofenchene, and longicyclene, followed by hydrolysis brought about stereo- and regioselective formation of the corresponding homoallylic alcohols as the main product in good yields. |
