Abstract:
A lower limit to the OH(X2Π) vibrational excitation produced by the reaction O(1D) + H2 has been observed using a low-pressure infrared chemiluminescence apparatus. The O(1D) was generated by laser photolysis of O3. The measured OH(v') vibrational distribution is inverted; it peaks at v' = 2.
