| Abstract: | The classical derivation of the radiation stress tensor, for progressive and standing waves, in one dimension, due to Longuet-Higgins and Stewart is generalized to apply to any two-dimensional pattern of waves, standing or progressive, which can be described by a complex velocity potential. |
