| Abstract: | Photoemission measurements (UPS, XPS) show that potassium oxide is not formed when adsorbing oxygen on potassium-covered Pt (111) and Fe(110). Two oxygen states are observed. One is chemisorbed oxygen on the surface. The other can be interpreted as being due to either incorporated atoms or oxide. |
