Abstract: | An intense source has been developed to study the reactions of boron (2P) atoms with O2, NO2, N2O, ClO2, and O3. The chemiluminescent emissions which characterize the bimolecular reaction of boron with O2, N2O, ClO2, and O3 are dominated by the A 2Π-X 2Σ+ band system of BO. In contrast the chemiluminescence from the boron- NO2 reaction is dominated by strong BO2 A 2Πu-X 2Σg emission. |
