Abstract: | ![]() Solid polymer electrolytes based on a poly(ethylene oxide), (PEO), host have been prepared using the solvent casting method and characterized by conductivity measurements and thermal analysis. The observed ionic conductivity of the novel system based on PEO and europium perchlorate was similar to that of other electrolytes based on the same polymer host with a different trivalent guest species [1]. The presence of the perchlorate anion widened the composition range of amorphous behaviour but limited the thermal stability of the electrolytes produced.
