Exponential decay of Timoshenko beam with locally distributed feedback

Abstract:The problem of exponential stabilization of a nonuniform Timoshenkobeam with locally distributed controls is investigated. Withoutthe assumption of different wave speeds, it is shown that, undersome locally distributed controls, the vibration of the beamdecays exponentially. The proof is obtained by using a frequencymultiplier method.
