Novel fluorinated poly(aryl ether)s derived from 1,2-bis(4-(4-fluorobenzoyl)phenoxy)-hexafluorocyclobutane

Abstract:Two novel poly(aryl ether)s were prepared from 1,2-bis(4-(4-fluorobenzoyl)-phenoxy)-hexafluorocyclobutane and aromatic bisphenols by the aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction in a polar aprotic solvent. These polymers have good thermal stability up to 341 °C with 10% weight loss in inert atmosphere and good solubility in common organic solvents such as THF, DMAc, DMF and DMSO.
