A practical diffraction grating neutron interferometer has been tested and used to obtain the interference pattern for neutrons with a maximum wavelength of λ = 3.15 Å. Implementation of this principle for very low energy ultra-cold neutrons, permits a substantial expansion of the range of problems which can be solved by neutron interferometry. |
