Magnetic susceptibility and valence fluctuations in Sm3S4 |

| Abstract: | The magnetic susceptibility of Sm3S4 single crystals has been measured between 1.8 K and 300 K. At low temperatures the susceptibility is composed of χSm2+ + 2χSm3+. Near and above 100 K the susceptibility of the Sm3+ ions is quenched due to the increasing valence fluctuation rate. |
