The manufacture of thin film gauges for measuring transient temperatures and heat fluxes is described. A new method of using ceramic substrates (ZrO2) with two sintered platinum wires is described. Examples of static and dynamic calibrations are given. Sample measurements in a shock tunnel are presented.
