| Abstract: | Optically pumped vibrational transition lasing has been achieved for the first time in a nonlinear molecule. Laser radiation at 628.74 ± 0.02 cm?1 was generated from SF6 using CO2 TEA laser excitation. The SF6 pumping is shown to be via absorption of two photons. |
