5,6-Dihydro-4H-imidazo[4,5,1-i,j]quinoline derivatives

The oxidation of 2-hydroxymethyl and 2-methyl derivatives of 5,6-dihydro-4H-imidazo4,5,1-i,j] quinoline with active manganese dioxide and selenium dioxide gave 2-formyl derivatives of this heterocycle.
