Ti-catalyzed reactions of 4,4′-bis(trimethylsilyl)bicyclohexyl-2,2′-diene with various electrophiles

Abstract:Reductive disilylation (Li + Me3SiCl − THF) of 1,3-cyclohexadiene led to 4,4′-bis(trimethylsilyl)bicyclohexyl-2,2′-diene (1). In the presence of TiCl4 in dichloromethane, 1 reacted with some acyl chlorides, anhydrides, and aldehydes to give tricyclo[7.4.0.03,8]trideca-4,12-diene-2-yl derivatives.
