Abstract:Benzene hydrogenation was used as a test reaction for the ultrafine amorphous Ni P catalysts prepared by chemical reduction. The results show that the preparation temperature and initial pH of the solutions strongly affect their structures and the activities of benzene hydrogenation. XAFS and DTA were employed to characterize the structures of the amorphous Ni P alloys prepared under different conditions and annealed at various temperatures. It was found that an abrupt decrease of the catalytic activity was observed at the annealing temperature of about 300℃,which corresponds to the crystallization temperature of the amorphous Ni P alloy catalysts.
