| Abstract: | This review focuses on the tautomerization mechanism between alkynes and vinylidene units taking place in the coordination sphere of transition metal fragments. Reactions of vinylidene complexes as well as catalytic reactions involving a metal-vinylidene intermediate are also reviewed from the mechanistic point of view. |
