Abstract: | 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-hydroxypiperidine-1-oxyl (TMHPO) shows catalytic electroactivity in homogeneous oxidation of benzoyl hydrazine (BH) on a glassy carbon electrode. The catalytic current is affected by the concentration of TMHPO and the pH of the solution. A possible catalytic reaction mechanism is proposed and a non-toxic, convenient method for the determination of BH in the concentration range 1×10−5–2×10−3 M has been developed. |
