| Abstract: | Condensation of isatins with 3-keto-substituted steroids gives 2-(3-dioxindolyl) steroids. A mixture of two epimeric 2α-(3-indolyl)cholestan-3-ols is obtained by reduction of 2-(3-dioxindolyl)-3-ketocholestane. |
