Abstract:In this paper the ~1H, ~(13)C and ~(15)N NMR spectral data of ~(15)N labelled aromatic hydroxyoxime ligands were reported, It was observed that the values of ~(15)N chemical shifts related lineally to the charge densities of ~(15)N. The coupling constants of ~(15)N-~1H and ~(15)N-~(13)C as well as the isotopic effect of ~(15)N on the ~(13)C NMR were obtained. Furthermore, based on the observations of the effects of temperture, concentration and addition of shift reagent Eu (fod)_3 on the chemical shifts of aromatic hydroxyoximes, it was suggested that aromatic hydroxyoximes existed as associated molecules in the soluti on via intra- or intermolecular hydrogen bonding processes in the solution.
