Abstract:Shock presure measurements are made with the use of PVDF transducer which is bound at the back face of aluminum targets covered with glass overlay and irradiated by laser pulses of 50ns duration, at incident laser power density between 0.2GW/cm2 and 2 GW/cm2. The PVDF film is of 50μm thickness. The complete shape of presure pulse and the peak presure at the back face of target were obtained. These experimental results would be an aid to select parameters for laser shock applications.
