| Abstract: | An efficient procedure for the synthesis of 3-cyano-4-difluoromethyl- and 3-cyano-4-trifluoromethyl-2(1H)-pyridones was developed. The structure of one of the resulting compounds was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. |
