| Abstract: | Si nanowires of diameters 5-20 nm and nanoparticles of approximately 4 nm were synthesized by a simple arc-discharge method in water. The TEM analysis reveals that the growth direction of the observed Si nanowires is parallel to the {111} crystal planes. |
