Zero-point energy of some cubic metals

A screened shell phenomenological model has been used for the estimation of the zero-point energies of four alkali, three noble and six b.c.c. transition metals. The calculated values are compared with the reported values. It has been found that a good phenomenological model along with a consideration of proper number of wave vectors in the irreducible ($\text{1}\text{48}$) part of the Brillouin zone, can yield satisfactory results.
